With the collection “Street Theatre” in 2003 Vivienne and Andreas started to develop knitwear with slits and holes.
This idea which was inspired from 17th century men’s wear and was reused in many of the following Gold Label collections.
In This picture Jason wears a Hole Jumper with a drape neck. In the shop we also have waistcoats, cardigans, and kid’s jumpers.
We are impressed! Thank you Hunan for sending us your drawings.
We must admit this is very different from the way we work here. Often people are surprised about how little we draw. Most of the Westwood designs are developed directly in fabric on the dummy. All drawings and illustrations are made afterwards when the garments are fully finished. We use drawings just as a communication device, not so much as a design tool.
We wanted to show you our favourite Shawl. It was designed for Gold Label +5 collection and has been so popular that we repeated it for the 4th time already.
The Shawl comes in 2 designs, measures 320 x 75cm, and is made in Scotland from 100% pure lambs wool. Vivienne suggests wearing it on top of an oversized man’s jacket. This creates a very nice spontaneous look and keeps you warm. DIY / Battle Shawl – £195.00
The Lion bag was developed for the Gold Label Collection “Wild Beauty” in 2001. It is one of Vivienne’s favourite accessories.
If you find yourself in the Battersea area there is a good chance that you’ll see Vivienne on her bike with this bag hanging from the handle bar.
At Worlds End we currently have it in suede (black, blue/grey, bordeaux, and sand. We are making a fabric version later this year.
