Back in 1987 Vivienne’s new muse & house model Sara Stockbridge did a shoot with photographer Declan Ryan in & around the British Museum in London. This was to model the Autumn/Winter 1987-8 Harris Tweed Collection. The make-up for the shoot (& the show) incorporated smudged lipstick as if you had been out all night kissing somewhere. Very Sara.
Not used at the time was a sequence of close-ups of Sara’s lips & mouth.
Eighteen years later that changed & one of the sequence was turned into a print for the MAN SS05 show.
Marilyn Manson modelled one for the campaign (Perou took the photo) & the print was also used on a variety of products from carpets to tea cups.
Since then the lips print has become a regular for Worlds End Shop & now we have a new batch of the t-shirts in stock. This time a new item the Lips Dress has also been produced, made to the same pattern as the earlier Tits dress.
Both made in 100% organic cotton, the t-shirt sells for £55 & the dress for £90.
Modelling these latest items we are very lucky to have Sara’s daughter Lelu (who also modelled in the recent ‘Mirror on the world’ SS16 Red Label catwalk show).
Thank you Lelu.
Wow! Thanks for this, I never knew it was Sara’s lips that were used.
Sara and her daughter look lovely here. I was in the shop a few weeks ago and purchased two of the t shirts (one for me and one for my son!) and the dress for my wife. The colours are stunning and the photos dont do them justice.
Great post Ben, thank you.
Love it!
