In keeping with the World’s End philosophy of bringing back classic designs & making them with left over fabrics we have now re-introduced the ‘Glory’ dress, exclusive to the Kings Road shop.
First shown in the SS 2012 collection ‘War & Peace’ this time the dress has been made in a silver grey viscose/acetate mix & is priced at £295.00.
The dress comes in three sizes, 10, 12 & 14 & features raw edges at the sleeve holes & the neckline.
Originally called the ‘Pinch’ dress, the dress has been made using the entire width of the fabric as it comes on the roll. The fabric is wrapped around the body & the edges (selvedges) of the fabric are closed with a zip at the back. The dress is given its shape by the strategic pinching & sewing of the fabric. This means that any fabric wastage is kept to a bare minimum. The different sizes are achieved by increasing or decreasing the amount of pinched fabric.
For this shoot the lovely Ena Uda has modelled for us.
From Ehime in Japan (near Hiroshima), Ena is at college here in London studying Drama & is available as an actress, model & singer ( www.starnow.co.uk/enauda ) .
Back home in Japan her passion is for riding her 800cc Kawasaki motorbike which is coloured duck egg blue. Vroom, vroom. Thank you Ena.
