Closed for a bit…….

The Worlds End shop has not been open this week as at last a major refurbishment is under way.
Apologies for not giving any advance notice but the decision to close came on us suddenly. The reason for this refurbishment is rather interesting.
We have now acquired the basement space to number 430.
Anyone who has ever been to the shop will know that there has always been a restaurant next door. The longest running one was called Osteria (this was here before Let It Rock opened & is now in Clapham High St).
The new space will not be used for retail. Instead an office, storage space & room for the mail order side of things will be incorporated here. Also a new changing room & at last a toilet!.
This will create a lot more space on the shop floor itself & will allow for some major changes here too although don’t worry, the shop is still keeping its original pirate ship theme.
Work is expected to last for the rest of October & into November maybe.
In the meantime the mail order side of business is still in operation on:

Thank you….
(& of course I will still be posting on this site & will keep you informed)

  1. My sadness at the closing is tempered by the plans you have in store!

I look forward to seeing what you do with the place :)

    Lots of love,

  2. Another overhall? It wasn’t too long ago it had an face lift was it? I wish the shop didn’t have to change. Bijou as it is there is no other shop like it. Or has its charm. Or staff! The likes of Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren could’nt dream of creating this atmosphere. It’s legendary!

Although knowing Vivienne it will be exciting and I do look forward to your coming posts and visiting you next year.

    Best wishes x

    • Heya,
The look won’t be changing – not to worry — we just had to buy the basement as we needed storage (and a loo!) As with minor changes, they sometimes unearth major ones, so we thought we’d have the floor boards replaced finally as they were becoming dangerously thin!! EEEK! So not to worry, all will be restored soon (ish) xx

  3. It will be such a shame to change anything in the shop as it is such a massive part of Westwood history, it has been like that for so long and everyone sees it as a legend of the brand. No other brand has this. The shop is more of a museum to the brand now.
