We have no choice between a Green Economy & Mass Extinction!……Join the march!
The good news that Shaker Aamer was finally to be released after 14 hellish years in Guantanamo Detention Centre came on September 25th this year. We will have to wait a further 30 days from this time for the US Congress to process him, so he is due back on the 24th October (NO LATER).
Is this the end of this heroic man’s problems? Is he to be released on time without any more excuses from the criminals that put him there?….Probably not!.
Already smear campaigns are being ‘released’ about him. ‘He’s a very dangerous man’ apparently, although they cannot, even after 14 years, seem to ever show us any proof of this & instead ask us to believe their words, as our ‘leaders’ are such ‘honest’ & ‘respectable’ people that we should just accept what they say…Right?
Shaker is still being beaten up every day & he has been on another hunger strike since last August.
Will he make it out of that terrible place? The people who put him there would prefer it if he didn’t as his release exposes the crimes they have & are still committing.
Shaker’s lawyer Clive Stafford Smith of the charitable organisation Reprieve & the ‘We Stand with Shaker’ organisation have organised a new campaign that the public can join to show solidarity with Shaker’s situation. It is called ‘Fast for Shaker’ & it asks participants to fast for a period of 24hours sometime between today the 15th October & Shaker’s release, hopefully in 10 days’ time, although if not the campaign will continue.
