This week’s post is a bit of a mish-mash.
In the process of photographing Ray Noir for the previous post, he told me that he had taken a photo of the second artwork/graffiti drawn by Jean Charles de Castelbajac on the telephone box outside the shop, the one that had been washed off by the council. So here it is.
This leads me to the other photos. Continue reading
New to to Ben’s range in Worlds End Shop is the Dix scarf.
Made in 100% cotton the black on black Shemagh scarf is over printed with German artist Otto Dix’s ‘Stormtroopers Advancing under Gas’ from 1924.
I have added to the message of Dix’s painting by the addition of the wordplay ‘Man MADE Hell’…Which is the simple explanation for Hell. Nothing to do with after death at all.
The scarf also comes in Khaki which is a bit smaller.
Keziah (see Kizzy post) & Johannes recently helped us by modelling some of the new Worlds End special pieces in the shop right now.
These include a makeover of the Infinity Poncho from Gold Label AW14.
For the first time this is available in a men’s size and is printed with Vivienne’s hand-drawn Climate-Economy graphic.
The Poncho is made from 100% Austrian Loden & can be worn as an outer piece like a heavy jumper.
The Propaganda Shoulder Bag is part of a series of re-makes from the AW05 Propaganda Collection.
The Giant Tooth Jewellery is exclusive to King’s Road. Johannes’ tattoo is amazing with it of course…
Lastly we are very proud to introduce new t-shirt colours made using 100% vegetable dye.
The colours of these change/fade slightly with every wash and are not as even as would normally be expected, but that’s what makes them special & they feel amazing.
Available with different prints.
All garments shown are made in the UK.
As mentioned last week my wife Tomoka has been writing a monthly article about Vivienne & her political values for the Japanese fashion bible SO-EN magazine. She has kindly offered to translate these articles into English for us & so here is the first one.
